We are extremely shocked and shattered to know about the untimely demise of our colleague Sri Satheesh M B, JTO (BBC), Thrissur, and the manner in which he has chosen to end his life. We are also in deep anguish to note that the purported reason attributed to this extreme step being financial difficulties. We express our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May his soul rest in peace.
No doubt, we in BSNL are passing through tough times. We are passing amidst a deadly pandemic in which we have lost many colleagues. Many of us have also lost our kith and kin. To add salt to this wound, BSNL is being run by insensitive management which has not only failed to disburse timely salary to the staff, but also forces executives to pay out of their pocket for the upkeep of the telecom network even amidst this pandemic. We are also witnessing management that has failed miserably in driving the company through the revival plan post-VRS. Launch of 4G, Prudent and timely restructuring after VRS to suit the modern business needs, professionalization of HR functions, etc. are all adding up to the list of missed opportunities for BSNL!
However, all are requested to note that suicide is not a solution; instead, it creates more problems. BSNL has already lost more than 180 staff in this pandemic and we are witnessing management that runs away from its responsibilities. We do see many sad faces in our company and an element of restlessness and discontent brewing in the company. Timely salary, medical facility, care, and rest must be ensured to employees. Above all, there must be hope - a hope that a good future awaits us. HR management begins by creating an environment of hope for growth and joyful life.
The young employees came with a dream and their dreams must be made true by creating a great company with value. We expect empathetic deeds and words from the management that inspire and enlighten us, but not words of doom and gloom. We also take this opportunity to request the BSNL Fraternity to reach out to all our colleagues at this hour of crisis because it will reduce the stress levels. Let's all fly above the valley of darkness and let us not just hope but work all the ways to make our dreams true.

AIGETOA Kerala represented with CGMT BSNL KERALA about the need of replacement of CDOT exchanges with UT/Huawei NGN & utilisation of ASL-1A cards to replace colocated DSLAMs in UT NGN in Kerala Circle before effecting any such diversions. This will have a direct impact on maintenance aspects and power utilisation.
AIGETOA has strongly objected to discrimination between the causes of death and demanded to immediately include all death cases in BCF Policy and incorporate other measures in the notified Policy as suggested by the association earlier.
AIGETOA also demanded to declare all death cases due to COVID or its related complications as “On Duty Death” and demanded adequate compensation for the families in line with the earlier communication dated 04.05.2021.
The Group Mediclaim Policy by AIGETOA started functioning with 35,873 beneficiaries in the first phase.
It is issued in the name of “All India Graduate Engineers & Telecom Officers association” (AIGETOA), BSNL by New India Assurance Co Ltd (Government of India Undertaking), and Medi Assist which was awarded India's best TPA at the Asia Insurance Awards 2020.

In line with various communication and efforts from administration, Association and Employees, Govt. of Kerala has included Telecom as Front Line Worker category for prioritizing Vaccination.
As a first step, all employees and contract workers are requested to register themselves at the Cowin website (https://cowin.gov.in/). Subsequently, they are requested to share their Registration Reference ID at the Cowin website to their BA Admin at the earliest for submitting their details at the Portal of Kerala Government as an (FLW) Front Line Worker for obtaining priority.

The 2nd set of GHIS (Group Medi Claim Policy) launched by AIGETOA through New India Assurance and Medi Assist TPA is also made operational Now. Last week 4939 people's first set was also enrolled.
Today, the 2827 people covered in the Second lot also will have got an SMS about their confirmation of Policy on their registered mobile number.
Further, for those who have opted to withdraw or are ineligible due to wrong choices, their refund shall be processed in 2-3 days.

AIGETOA Kerala made a submission to CGMT Kerala , for consideration of capacity increase in present 4G network in Kerala Circle.
In the present lockdown situation ,there expect a high surge in Mobile data usage. If we are able to make the frequency allocation approval for additional 5Mhz and vendor support, this can be done.

Circle office has called volunteers for posting at Lakshadweep islands for tenure replacements in JTO cader. The last date for volunteers is 18/05/2021.
This is to intimate that we have sent the details of the first lot of executives and employees, who were within the threshold limit and their premium has also been paid to New India Assurance.
The people covered in the first lot will receive an SMS about their confirmation of Policy on the registered mobile number.
Accordingly, Group Health Insurance coverage for the first lot becomes effective. As it will take around one week time to issue the Policy Number and its Document and issuance of Health Insurance E-Card to every individual, the facility of coverage will be extended by raising your request on E-mail ID sent to you through SMS on your registered mobile number.

The details of the remaining persons shall be sent once the policy is issued, which is expected to take one week time. We expect their coverage to start by the end of the second week of May 2021.
