Annual General Body Meet of AIGETOA Circle Office Unit Thiruvananthapuram

Inline with  the notification issued, the Annual General body Meet of AIGETOA Circle office,  Thiruvananthapuram was held on 02.04.2025  Evening time at Circle Office premises. Circle  Secretary  Sri. Maxmilan K and Circle Chairman Sri. Saheer S addressed the meeting. The returning Officer Sri. Karthik P Nair handled the election process.

During election process the house , unanimously elected Sri. Anoop R as District Secretary, Circle office unit, Thiruvananthapuram for the remaining term.Later the house has also elected the Sri. Dr. Sathya Jose as District President and Smt. Bency Haridas as executive member which was vacant at that time.

Update on Superannuation Benefits Case at Hon High Court of Kerala

The cases filed by AIGETOA & Others seeking the implementation of dues of Superannuation Benefits for BSNL recruited employees listed for hearing today 27/03/2025 at Hon High Court, Kerala. The relief sought from applicants (AIGETOA Association side) included 

From respondent side, BSNL counsel had submitted that they are providing 25.1% of SAB including 3.3% actuarial analysis of BSNL MRS Scheme. And due to current/ the then financial position, which doesn’t allow the company to go further in earlier days. It was also submitted from respondents that due to the absorption process of DoT employees and connected matters the SAB benefits for BSNL recruited employee could not process clearly.

From Association side our counsel submitted   that the justifications submitted by BSNL is not acceptable and the superannuation Pension scheme should have implemented by BSNL wef  1/10/2000   or from the date of joining of each BSNL recruited employee instead of the starting on 05/05/2016. The egregious delay in starting the pension scheme for almost 16 years affected thousands of employees. It was also submitted that mentioning the current financial situation is not justified as the 30% SAB dues was supposed to get implemented wef 01/01/2007 in line with 2^nd PRC implementation and the company was in total profit of many thousands of crores from its formation to 2009-2010. The so-called affordability of BSNL is not affected due to the working-class employees. It was also pointed that the step-by-step package implementation as envisaged by 2^nd PRC was not followed by BSNL scrupulously. 

It was also submitted that the superannuation benefits (its components) are directed as defined/fixed contribution Schemes for   ensuring retirement superannuation benefits and the company’s existence/ non-existence has no way connected with the retirement life of the employees.  The argument of BSNL with regard to 3.3% actuarial analysis in BSNL MRS also negated by the association counsel by informing that BSNL MRS is only a medical reimbursement scheme for serving and retired employees of BSNL. Its applicability is connected with BSNL Board decisions and contrary to the directions of DPE/GOI, there is no fixed contributions are made for retirement medical benefits for BSNL recruited employees. If BSNL is true to its commitment of 3.3% contribution for retirement medical benefits, they should create and maintain a PRMB trust with fixed contribution against each BSNL recruited employee.

The case is posted for further arguments to a later date.

Meeting With CGMT BSNL Kerala

In continuation with the follow up meetings with Sr .GM HR/ Admin on various matters, today AIGETOA Circle Team met CGM Kerala Sri B Sunil Kumar ITS .  Discussions on  HR matters with respect to publication of surplus/deficit executive strength in BAs, Adherence to Transfer policy Guidelines , issuing of Inter BA OTP transfer orders , Relieving of Approved Rule 8 cases and issuing the pending R8 orders held in detail. In addition to the same some matters pertain to members specific issues also discussed. 

We hope for positive resolutions on the same from our esteemed CGMT Kerala at the earliest.

AIGETOA Malappuram’s 6th District Conference cum Annual General Meeting

The 6th District Conference cum Annual General Meeting of AIGETOA Malappuram was held on 24th February 2025, at the Conference Hall of Hotel Mahendrapuri , Malappuram. The event commenced with a delightful buffet lunch, served to all dignitaries and members before the official inauguration of the function.

Open Session Highlights:

The Open Session was presided over by Sri Faisal E P , District Secretary of AIGETOA Malappuram. Smt Sheeba Maideen , District President, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries and participants in attendance.

The session was graced by  the Chief guest Smt Sania Abdul Latheef, Sr GM, BSNL Malappuram BA .

 The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour delivered inspiring speeches, on Open session Theme : Back to BSNL Glory : Importance of Smart Working. The Open Session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri. Vivek Janardhanan, District Finance Secretary, AIGETOA Malappuram.

District Conference Organizational Proceedings:

The second part of the conference began with the presentation of the District Secretary’s Report by Sri. Faisal EP., followed by the Finance Report by Sri. Vivek Janardhanan. Both reports were unanimously accepted by the district collegium. The district governing body for the term 2021-2024 was subsequently dissolved by the District President, Smt Sheeba Maideen.

Election of New District Governing Body: AIGETOA Malappuram

The election proceedings for the new district governing body were conducted by the Returning Officer, Sri Abbas PM , Circle Observer, Sri. Abdul Basith P K was also present to oversee the election process. The nominations were read out to the General Body . After detailed deliberations and discussions, the following executives were unanimously elected for the term 2025-2028:

Later on various matters related to BSNL , EPF , Legal , Promotions etc were queried from members and reply was given by the AGS CHQ and CEC Members .The 6th District Conference cum Annual General Meeting of AIGETOA Malappuram was a momentous occasion that highlighted the strength and unity of the association, ensuring a bright future for BSNL and its employees.
